Seasonal lawn nutrition
Residential lawn fertilization in Burbank
Quarterly fertilizer applications are included in our $29-per-month lawn-health add-on for recurring customers.

Start with the grass
Fertilize during active growth, not simply by the date
A fertilizer schedule should begin with turf type and season. Warm-season grasses such as bermudagrass and St. Augustine are most active during warmer months. Cool-season grasses such as tall fescue grow more strongly in milder spring and fall weather. Applying the same product at the same rate to both can waste material or produce growth the lawn cannot support.
We use premium Scotts products selected for the visible grass, season, label directions and current lawn condition. Applications are made as part of ongoing service so growth, color, mowing response and irrigation patterns can be observed between treatments.
What fertilizer can do
Support density, color and recovery when nutrition is limiting
Turf fertilizer commonly supplies nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, but nitrogen is the nutrient lawns require most regularly. The useful amount depends on species, product and time of year. Properly timed nutrition can support leaf growth, density and recovery from normal use without creating a sudden surge that demands excessive mowing and water.
Basic soil information and the lawn’s history help guide the plan. We also account for recent seeding, dormancy and visible stress. Fertilizer is applied according to the product label, with attention to pavement and planting areas so granules stay where intended.
What it cannot diagnose
Yellow grass is not always hungry grass
Thin or discolored turf can result from uneven sprinklers, shade, compaction, pet urine, heat reflected from pavement, disease, insects or a warm-season lawn entering dormancy. Adding nitrogen without identifying the pattern can accelerate healthy sections while the original problem remains.
Our fertilization service does not include herbicide, pesticide, fungicide or weed-and-feed treatment. It also does not repair irrigation or replace a laboratory soil analysis when a precise deficiency diagnosis is needed. Those boundaries keep the service focused and the product choice understandable.
A responsible application
Weather and irrigation are part of the treatment plan
Fertilizer needs to remain on the lawn and be watered according to its label. We avoid conditions likely to move product onto pavement, into gutters or away from the intended root zone.
- Tell us about recent fertilizer or seed applications.
- Share the grass type if you know it.
- Repair obvious sprinkler breaks before treatment.
- Follow the watering instructions for the selected product.
- Keep people and pets off the area as directed.
- Notify us of runoff, standing water or upcoming irrigation limits.
Recurring customers
Nutrition works best when it is observed over time
Lawn fertilization is offered within the monthly lawn-health add-on, which also includes basic soil testing and scheduled moisture-management treatments. Regular mowing visits let us see how the lawn responds and avoid treating a one-day snapshot as the full story. Results still depend on turf species, irrigation, weather, soil and property use.
